Sanctuary of Oils
Mayasblends are made with the highest quality therapeutic grade essential oils, using organic or wild crafted where available, purchased from trusted suppliers.

Most Mayasblends are made with a premium base of pure golden jojoba. Jojoba makes an excellent carrier because it remains stable in a wide range of temperatures, and contains natural vitamin E, bringing it’s own healing properties to every blend.

What makes Mayasblends unique is our most important ingredient --  pure loving intent.
About  Mayasblends
Essential oils come from the “essence” of plants and trees - their herbs, flowers, roots, seeds, peel, and bark. The most common method of extraction is steam distillation, which captures the plant’s unique properties that promote healing.

Use of  aromatic oils dates back thousands of years.  Sandalwood was used in Ancient Chinese and Ayuvedic medicine; myrrh, frankincense, and cedarwood were known by the Ancient Egyptians for their purifying properties. Rosemary was a well known medicinal throughout the Ancient world, while rose was later treasured for its heart-soothing perfume.

Today, there are well over 100 essential oils available for personal and therapeutic applications.  The more we understand their complex natures, the better informed we are in their applications and safe use as healing allies.

Scents & Memory
The key to the healing power of essential oils begins with our nose – and the olfactory nerve located at the end of the nasal passages. The only exposed nerve in the human body, the olfactory nerve connects to the limbic system – one of the oldest parts of the brain that is associated with motion and memory. That’s why a strong fragrance often triggers a memory from another place and time.

Molecules of essential oils are volatile – on the move as soon as they are exposed to air.  Simply inhaling eucalyptus, for example,  known for its anti-congestent and anti-viral properties, has an immediate affect on clearing congestion and deepening our breath.

Using a Carrier Oil
Because they are highly concentrated most essential oils should be added to a carrier oil before applying to skin, and kept away from the eyes.  Carrier oils can include any cold-pressed, organic nut or seed oil.  There are exceptions -- when using oils neat is safe and recommended, as with lavender.  Applied directly, lavender essential oil actually promotes cellular repair, and can quickly heal burns and scar tissue..

Essential oils are one of nature’s precious gifts, and as with all gifts -- should be received with appreciation and joy.
